Day 1 - Innsbruck, Austria to Prague, Czech Republic

And today was the first day of our UK Adventure. We are still very far from the UK but we are making our way there. However, since we were so close and had heard so much about Prague we decided to take one day and travel East rather than West where the UK is. Go figure ...

We started the day in Innsbruck where we had slept last night and visited the old town and what a quaint place it turned out to be. The whole city is getting ready for winter so everywhere you go there is a lot of winter hats and coats with the most amazing designs and colors.

How would you like to have a coffee sitting on one of these ?

And yes we found a tower with 150 steps to climb and climb huffing and puffing we did. The views were great as we looked at the town from above with the Alps at a distance. Check out the video below.

We really enjoyed Innsbruck and would recommend as a place to visit. We did get a flag and an Austrian sticker and rode for a while around town with the flag.

Although we wanted to stay longer, we had to leave as we had nearly 600 Kms to travel today. We went past Germany, around Munich and the GSA loved the Autobahn with no speed limits. The trees are looking beautiful with their autumn foliage.

By the time we arrived in Prague it was night already and we had to go around the whole city to get to our hotel. The hotel is right in the middle of town and it is excellent. The Internet is one of the best we have had.

For dinner we went to an Italian restaurant that makes their own pastas. Pasta Fresca had really fresh and great pasta. Paula had the Canneloni and I had the Spaghetti. For starters we had Roasted Calamari. The best I have had ever. Tutti perfetto.
Tomorrow we start our trip West and go back to Munich where we will catch an overnight train to Dusseldorf, but hope to do a couple of hours walking about in Prague to see the sights this city is so well known for.
